Botanica

Her: a florist with a passion for motorcycle engines. Him: an artist lost in the corporate world. From a word to a thought, from a thought to a fantasy, from a fantasy to a touch… A feeling starts to bloom between them, while being constantly tested: by uncertainty, jealousy, self-consciousness. Will they manage to get rid of the weeds growing out of their relationship and blossom into a harmonious couple?

„Botanica” is kth.’s visual triumph, full of unpresumptuous symbolism, sensuality, humor and empathy, in which the subject of romantic love blooms on each new page of the comic.

The most recent work by the Cracow-based author, previously known from short forms and independent publishing, also happens to be her full album original debut. In „Botanica” kth. explores her constant visual fascinations: floral motifs carry deeper meanings, while the colour palette – violets, pinks and beiges – highlight the emotional states of the story’s heroes. Every page of the comic can be seen as a separate work of art, carefully thought-out regarding composition, created with the utmost attention to detail. This light, universal story of love follows the rhythm of the plants’ life: from slow growth, fighting with the pests, to fully blossoming thanks to the delicate care.
