The exhibition dedicated to the work of Przemysław “TRUST” Truściński — an illustrator, graphic designer, and one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Polish comics—has been conceived as a multi-layered presentation rather than a traditional retrospective. The title, “TRUST the process,” can be interpreted in two ways: as a call to “trust the process” and as “TRUST’s process,” referring to the artist's unique creative journey.
The exhibition is divided into ten thematic segments and features nearly five hundred original works, showcasing the immense diversity and scale of Truściński’s artistic output. Visitors will have the opportunity to see his 1990s comics, graphics created for "The Witcher" (CD PROJEKT RED), war-themed illustrations, the haunting pieces from the "Andzia" album, commercial designs, typography, and works exploring the realms of dark grotesque and fantasy.
Truściński moves fluidly between hyperrealism and expressionism, and between stark black-and-white and vibrant color. His art is rooted in both everyday reality and the realms of the surreal and the fantastic. A particularly striking part of the exhibition is the “Sacrum/Profanum” segment, where the artist juxtaposes religious motifs with pop culture, creating works marked by the tension between faith, fear, and entertainment.
Although he has lived in Warsaw for years, the artist was long associated with Łódź and frequently emphasizes the city’s significance for his life and artistic development. It is for this reason that the largest exhibition of his career is being held at the Center for Comics and Interactive Narration EC1 in Łódź.
