EC1 Planetarium in Łódź a New Polish Wonder!
We are proud and happy to say that the EC1 Planetarium won the "7 New Wonders of Poland" contest organised by National Geographic Traveler, ranked first in the poll with 18.09% of the votes cast.
We are really happy that we have managed to win this prestigious title for the Łódź institution. It would not be possible without the substantial engagement of the residents of Łódź, media assistance and the kindness of guests from all over Poland. It is not just a success of EC1 Łódź – City of Culture, but mostly the residents of Łódź, who supported the planetarium both in the poll and every day by visiting 1/3 Targowa Street.
Thank you for every vote cast and every visit to our complex!
The EC1 Planetarium was nominated among 32 other sightseeing areas, and from the very start was the leader of the poll. Despite the fact that we were notified of the results on the night of August 31st - September 1st, the official announcement will take place during the "World Travel Show" – the international tourism fair organised in Warsaw between October 14th and 16th, 2016. We also congratulate our competitors, because without them the contest would not have been such a thrill.

The EC1 Planetarium in numbers:
100,000 visitors in eight months
Opened on January 8th, 2016, the EC1 Planetarium has already been visited by more than 100,000 people. We are extremely satisfied due to such significant interest, and we believe that establishing the Centre for Science and Technology will also inspire such warm feelings from the residents of Łódź and beyond.
"Dream to Fly" Première
On Sunday, August 28th, during the celebrations for Polish Aviation Day, we held the première of a new show in the EC1 Planetarium, which received a wonderful reception from the audience. From September 2016 guests will be able to see it for 30 shows.
46,000 viewers during group shows
Group shows are organised from Tuesday to Friday in the early afternoon. The planetarium is mostly visited by pupils; almost half of them come from Łódź institutions and the region.
In the EC1 West building, works on the exhibitions of the Centre for Science and Technology are now underway. Thus, organised sightseeing tours of the entire complex take place less frequently than we would have wanted. Despite that 1,500 people have already had the chance to learn about the secrets and nooks of the former Łódź power plant located on Targowa Street. Follow us on our social media profiles and visit our website: www.ec1lodz.pl, where we post the dates and times of upcoming tours.
